Intro

Digit 5 is the fifth generation of Agility Robotics' two-legged humanoid, announced on 15 September 2026. Agility describes it as its first Digit built to work close to people without the fences or barriers that industrial automation usually needs. Agility states a height of 1.81 m, a weight of 129 kg, reach up to 2.2 m and a payload of up to 50 lb (about 23 kg) per lift, using cycloidal actuators in a redesigned leg. Grippers can be swapped through ISO-standard mounting flanges.

Agility states a runtime of 90 minutes and a recharge time of 9 minutes, a run-to-charge ratio of 10:1 against 2:1 for Digit 4, and says this allows more than 20 working hours in a 24-hour day. In October 2026 Agility named Nyobolt, a Cambridge, UK battery company, as the supplier of that battery system.

Agility targets warehouses, distribution centres and manufacturing. It reports that the previous generation, Digit 4, has logged more than 65,000 hours of operation with customers including GXO, Schaeffler, Amazon and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, and that it held more than USD 300 million in multi-year Digit 5 orders as of May 2026, subject to contractual milestones.

Agility's product page says Digit 5 is in development and that its specifications are preliminary estimates from pre-production hardware. Early access is expected in the first half of 2027, with general availability expected by the end of 2027. No unit price has been published.
