Robot Brief

GoMate is the third-generation humanoid robot developed by GAC Group, unveiled in December 2024 at the Annual Conference of Robot China. It is a full-sized wheeled humanoid robot featuring an innovative variable wheel mobility structure that allows seamless switching between four-wheel and two-wheel modes. In four-wheel mode, GoMate stands about 1.4 meters tall and can navigate stairs, climb slopes, and overcome obstacles with stability and energy efficiency. Switching to two-wheel mode increases its height to 1.75 meters, enhancing flexibility and reducing its spatial footprint for maneuvering in tighter spaces. The robot integrates GAC’s self-developed pure-vision autonomous driving algorithm and FIGS-SLAM for advanced spatial intelligence and centimeter-level positioning accuracy. Equipped with a cloud-based multimodal large AI model, GoMate can quickly respond to complex human voice commands and perform autonomous movement planning. Powered by GAC’s all-solid-state battery, it offers up to six hours of continuous operation with over 80% energy savings compared to similar robots. GoMate’s dexterous hand combines strength and flexibility for practical tasks, supported by miniature servo drives and high-torque axial flux motors. The robot is designed for diverse applications including security, healthcare, automotive aftermarket, logistics, and education, aiming to enhance human efficiency and capabilities. GAC plans pilot deployments in 2025 and small-scale production in 2026.

Use Cases

GoMate autonomously navigates complex indoor and outdoor environments using advanced SLAM and vision algorithms, switching between stable four-wheel mode for rough terrain and agile two-wheel mode for confined spaces. It performs tasks requiring dexterous manipulation with its ergonomically designed hand, responds to voice commands with AI-driven understanding, and supports autonomous decision-making and obstacle avoidance. The robot enhances operational efficiency in security, healthcare, logistics, and education sectors.
