Intro
MobED (Mobile Eccentric Droid) represents Hyundai Motor Group Robotics LAB’s bold vision for the future of robotic mobility, where stability, speed, and intelligence converge in a compact, highly adaptable platform. Designed to outperform both traditional wheeled robots and complex legged systems, MobED introduces a unique eccentric posture control architecture that actively manages its center of gravity in real time. This innovative design allows MobED to glide smoothly across uneven terrain, curbs, slopes, and speed bumps—maintaining a level, composed body posture even in dynamic urban and industrial environments.
At the heart of MobED is its advanced Drive-and-Lift (DnL) wheel system, where each of the four wheels independently steers, drives, and vertically adjusts to the ground beneath it. This gives MobED the ability to adapt like a legged robot while retaining the efficiency and reliability of wheels, enabling confident movement at speeds of up to 10 km/h without sacrificing stability. Whether transporting sensitive equipment, navigating crowded indoor spaces, or traversing outdoor obstacles, MobED delivers smooth, vibration-reduced motion that protects payloads and enhances operational safety.
MobED is purpose-built as a modular robotics platform, empowering developers, enterprises, and researchers to build next-generation applications on a proven mobility foundation. Available in Basic and Pro configurations, the platform scales from rapid prototyping to fully autonomous deployment, with the Pro model integrating LiDAR, radar, vision sensors, and AI-powered autonomy for real-time navigation and obstacle avoidance. With standardized mounting interfaces, open APIs, and robust power delivery, MobED is more than a robot—it is a future-ready mobility layer designed to accelerate innovation across logistics, security, smart cities, and service robotics.
