Intro
Donut Robotics is a Tokyo-based AI and robotics innovator focused on developing robots and smart devices that enhance human life through intelligent physical interaction. The company began in 2014 (in a garage in Kitakyushu) and was formally incorporated in 2016, driven by a vision to connect high-performance AI with the physical world and improve both efficiency and accessibility of robotics for everyday use.
The company was founded by Taisuke Ono, a self-taught product designer who established Donut Robotics at the age of 22. Chief Engineer Takashi Okabe, involved in the Cinnamon project since 2016, oversees integrated hardware–software architecture and humanoid system engineering. Technology Advisor Ayumu Tokaji, a Stanford University and University of Tokyo graduate, contributes advanced robotics and space-grade systems expertise from his work on JAXA’s Martian Moons Exploration (MMX) mission.
